Most apartments are not chosen so much as accepted. A space designed to be acceptable to anyone and specific to no one. It is yours for now and will be someone else's soon.
I live here comfortably. I do not find it beautiful. The act of creating aesthetic objects is my way of negotiating between comfort and dissatisfaction.
I photograph it with large and medium format cameras. Describing the subject with full attention is, to me, the most honest way to elevate it without dressing up what it actually is.
